How to Curl Short Hair with Flatiron

Short hair can be given curly style to match the face. The various curls on short hair will transform the personality of a lady. Curls create fullness and give shape and life to short hair.

With the help of flatiron curls can be created at the ends of the hair or at the start near the scalp depending on choice.

Precaution before using flatiron.

  • Wash and dry hair completely. Wet hair will get easily damaged by heat of flatiron. Damp hair can also get damaged.
  • Apply some dry shampoo on hair if they are greasy
  • Use heat protection spray before using flatiron.
  • The size of the flatiron should be thin for short hair. It will give more curls.
  • The flatiron should have multiple temperature setting.
  • Temperature will be different for fine or thick hair.
  • Flatiron must be held vertically to the hair.

Preparing hair for making curly.

  • After dry hair completely and divide them into sections.
  • Pull hair from ears and secure them at top of the head with clips.
  • Take the sections and place them in flatiron plates.
  • Move flatiron away from face towards the end of the hair section, at same time give flatiron 180 degree turn.
  • The speed of the flatiron down the section of hair will determine the tight or loose nature of curls.
  • Then go to the next section and move flatiron in the same direction for uniform curls.
  • Now after curling bottom of the section, remove the clips and curl that part of the section which is not curled.
  • Now slowly move fingers through hair to separate the curls and give shape to them before drying hair.
  • Use hairspray so that final shape of curls sets when they are cool and dry.

 

 

To give shape to curls take following steps.

  • Use of light to medium spray will give loose curls and hard spray will give tight curls.
  • By moving flatiron in same direction while rolling hair section in half turn will give uniform curls.
  • Alternate moving downwards and upwards will give messier curls.
  • Take flatiron away from your face when curling front section. This way curls will not fall on your face.
  • When using flatiron on hair front of face, just take it from the half of the section to the bottom of section away from face.
  • By making curls towards face will hide face and curls away from face will expose face, giving confident look.
